August Prayers

August 1

Lord when we look at ourselves in the light, we are such an ugly, filthy and embarrassing thing. To think that You do not see us this way but You see us through Your Son is so humbling. Thank You Lord for Your mercy and Grace, for Your forgiveness and Salvation. Amen

August 2

Father we lift up those that are in our family and/or friends that are facing a diagnosis that is frightening. We pray for Your mercy, for Your healing and comfort. Use this for Your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray.

August 3

Forgive us Lord if we have not raised our children in a godly way. There are some of us that are very saddened that we missed the opportunity to tell them about You for we were not walking with You. Then there are some of us who were carnal and really didn't represent You as we should have. Let not our children suffer because of our disobedience. In Jesus’ name amen.

August 4

Lord our God, help us to rest in the understanding that it is You and only You that can reach into the depths of our hearts and see our hurts and disappointments. You and only You can comfort us with Your love. Man can not do this. In Jesus’ name we pray.

August 5

Lord stretch out Your hand upon Israel; protect her. May her enemies see that You are a mighty and powerful God. May they fall on their knees before You, and open their eyes to what is the truth. In the name of Yeshua we pray.

August 6

Father, we may not understand what You are doing in our lives, we pray that You give us patience. We ask that You strengthen our trust in You, for we know it is in these times our relationship with You deepens. In Jesus’ name we pray.

August 7

Lord as we read Your word we ask that our minds and hearts would absorb them. That as we go through adversities, strife, heartache, disappointments, that Your words would come to the forefront of our being and teach, guide, comfort and give us discernment. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen

August 8

Heavenly Father there are times we feel so stretched that we can’t take it any more. Lord help us to remain steadfast. Give us understanding to know You are doing a work in us that we may not understand at the moment but the end will be a stronger closer walk with You. In the name of Jesus we pray.

August 9

Father may we find no satisfaction in anything or anyone else but only in You. For in You is where we find fullness of joy. The world and its enticements can give us temporary happiness, but Your joy is complete and everlasting. In the precious name of Jesus we pray.

August 10

Lord the school year has begun for many students. We pray for those who have to attend the public system. We ask that at the end of each day You would shake off any thing that is against You. What their eyes may have seen or their ears heard. May we who are parents be their voices and stand up for what is right. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus.

August 11

Lord as some of us who are husbands or wives have to go out and be in this world at our work places, we ask that You give us discernment and wisdom to flee from the enticements of the enemy who wants to destroy our marriages and our homes. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

August 12

Father, some of us have forgotten that this is not our home. We’ve become too comfortable here, and forgotten to look forward to going to our true home, heaven. Raise us up out of these earthly beds and revive us to look forward to our heavenly home. In the name of Jesus we pray.

August 13

Lord we know You are our good Shepherd. Oh give us ears to only hear Your voice. For in this world there are fake shepherds that are looking to take us into their fold. Help us Lord to stay away from them and keep our eyes on You and our ears attentive to hearing Your voice only. In Jesus’ name we pray.

August 14

Thank You Lord for leading us to the waters of rest. We can get so depleted in this life. You are our great Shepherd who cares so very much for us, that You will bring us to the rest You promise and we can get replenished and be filled. Amen

August 15

Lord when we trust You as our Shepherd we are able to walk the paths that are hard, frightening and troublesome. For You are leading us and keeping us as You walk with us. Thank You. Amen

August 16

Lord, hear our battle cry as we step out the door this morning into a world that has become increasingly sinful. Prepare our minds and hearts for war against the enemy’s attacks. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

August 17

Take our lives Lord and let us be totally surrendered and consecrated to You. Give us a double portion of faith to follow You without pause. We ask in Jesus’ name.

August 18

Lord forgive us when we do not treat our bodies as Your temple. We fall into sin by attaching ourselves to unholy things and desires. We can defile ourselves. Forgive us and wash us anew. In the Holy name of Jesus.

August 19

Sanctify us Lord we ask. We thank You Lord for the change we see in ourselves. How the Holy Spirit moves in us, changing our lives from sin to sanctification. Amen

August 20

Father give us ears to listen to sound doctrine alone. For sometimes we can lean toward doctrines that align with what our flesh believes is true. Give us ears to only hear Your truth and hearts to believe. In Jesus’ name we pray.

August 21

Lord Your word says to “Hold fast”. Oh Lord there are times in our lives that when we have shared You to others and they are indignant. Remind us that we are to remain steadfast and move on as the apostles did and continue in the work You’ve ask of each of us. Amen

August 22

Lord some of us are troubled with all that is going on. We know You say not to be troubled and yet here we are. Lord settle our minds and hearts into Your peace and rest, we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen

August 23

There are those of us who are just about to step into a ministry. Father we ask that You fill us with strength, faith and humility. Oh that it would be none of us and all of You. In the name of Jesus we pray.

August 24

Lord God, we lift up our youth to You. We ask that You keep them from the enemy who is looking to lure them via their phones and websites, through television, radio and even friends. Close their ears and eyes from these and empower them to turn away, in Jesus’ name we pray.

August 25

Lord there are some of us walking around in religion instead of relationship. Help us to see we do not walk in religion but in relationship with You. Amen

August 26

Lord Jesus we do not know when You will return. Oh we pray that when You do, You will find us about Your business. May we be ready looking up, ready for You to take us home. Amen

August 27

Lord, thank You for Your abundant, abounding grace. Thank You for the unmerited favor you’ve given us and thank You for Your rich love. Amen

August 28

God bless us with the strength and desire to seek Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Lord we desire to know You, love You, and want to live our lives to please You. In Jesus’ name we pray.

August 29

Father cleanse us of everything in our lives that breaks your heart. We want to live a life that is lifting You up in the lifestyle that we live. Let the world see that You Lord are Lord of my life. In the name of Jesus we pray.

August 30

Heavenly Father protect us from all the plans of our enemies and the plans of the enemy of our souls. Increase our faith Lord to stand against the attack of the enemy. In the name of Jesus we pray.

August 31

Father, we give thanks to You for all the blessings You pour out upon us, from the smallest moments to the biggest blessings. We are so grateful for all that You provide and all that You are to us. Amen
