Who would have thought it all began with a simple letter?
A Christian in Old Bridge wrote a letter to California, asking for a Calvary Chapel-style fellowship to be started here in Central New Jersey.
God put it on Lloyd Pulley’s heart to respond to that letter, in person. Lloyd, along with his bride Karen and their two children, moved across country in complete obedience to God. Lloyd and Karen Pulley held a small Bible study on Thursday nights before the group grew to meet each Sunday morning.
By the end of 1984, the fellowship had grown to fifty people and moved to an elementary school gymnasium. By 1986, 150 people moved into the Carl Sandburg School auditorium, and by 1992, the church grew to 700 adults and approximately 300 children requiring multiple services.
Now ministering to the needs of an ever-growing congregation of over 3,000 people, and reaching over 7 million potential listeners through The Bridge Christian Radio in New York and New Jersey, we thank the Lord for faithfully providing us an opportunity to minister to His people!

Three words describe the vision of Calvary Chapel Old Bridge.
EXALT
As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are to exalt the Lord – to worship Him in Spirit and in truth. We do this every time we gather for corporate worship, and as we pray, serve, and love others in His name.
EQUIP
The church is called to equip the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:12). God’s people are primarily equipped through the Word of God, and that’s why we emphasize the teaching of the Scriptures through our services, our radio station, and in every ministry at Calvary. The saints are also equipped through our Discipleship Home Groups that bring the study of the Scriptures into intimate, smaller groups.
ENGAGE
As we exalt the Lord, and are equipped in Him, we are then prepared to be sent out for Him to engage the culture. Our passion is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through personal, patient evangelism, through radio, outreaches, and more.
In every service, outreach, and ministry, Calvary seeks to EXALT the Lord, EQUIP the saints, and ENGAGE the culture.
