"If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses? And, if in a safe land, you are so trusting, what will you do in the thicket of Jordan?" (Jeremiah 12:5). It is good for us to be aware that God, our Lord Jesus Christ, & the Holy Spirit can read the thoughts & intentions of our hearts. This connects to everything we think and do, in terms of being aware of the example that we set to others in our daily lives. Setting the example relates to me as, starting with good thoughts, then that sets up good actions, and we will in turn, set a good example, which is what God wants us to do.
However - my present challenge, and God moment, directly relates to integrating the above into my daily life and "walk" with Christ. Now as many of us are experiencing this social decay going on around us, in our schools, in our homes, and among wars, inflation, etc. I realize this verse says quite the opposite, and this is a race where we compete with horses and is no casual "walk" at all. In fact, I frequently find myself getting casual, then saying to myself, "what will I do in the thicket of Jordan" unprepared and seemingly comfortable? For example, when people call on me for immediate help, advice, or money, it used to tug at my heart strings and I would give in, only to be scammed, lied to, and only end up assisting the evil one who also has a price on my head and sifts me like flour daily, and thus wins another battle.
So my God moment is actually combined with a revelation, "That I plan to win the war" and lose less battles by "TESTING THE SPIRITS" in every dialogue I have in my personal and business life. My revelation? Is to know that: "improper planning on one's part, does not constitute an emergency on my part." Years of Laziness, people not working, making excuses, grown men and women still dependent on their parents, and/or wives for every little thing, so self-absorbed in their own minutia, never ever asked "Hey how are you doing today in the midst of my 60-hour work week? This is why I carry and give out free bibles for people to get to know God personally. No person, Church, Pastor, Teacher, blessed, Saved, or not, can ever take the place of the word of God.
In fact, Love is so central to God's character that it can be simply stated, "God Loves us so much, he is waiting to hear from us!" So, as some know that Prayer is the way we communicate with God our Father, in prayer, we open a personal dialogue, and build a relationship with God, personally. Now traditionally, most of us have been taught to pray at Church, which is a house of God, regardless of our denomination, which is a good thing. However, did you know? That God also said, "To pray in a secret quiet place, which can be absolutely anywhere, and God will reward us openly." And when we pray, we should pray from our heart about the specific things and needs we may have, such as TESTING THE SPIRITS around us, and to also thank God for the good blessings of knowledge we receive and too many times overlook. And so I Praise God, Our Lord Jesus Christ And Holy Spirit! To Thank you for this revelation, Amen!
