March 30 - Tom Sheker

Tribulation, Perseverance, Character, Hope. Over the last few years we have had some trying times with the passing of both my wife’s parents, and this week was aiming to be a tough one with the sale of her family’s home on April 26th. April 26th also happened to be the 10 year anniversary of my brother-in-law’s sobriety. His turnaround has been extraordinary, and we are so proud of him. He was a prodigal my mother-in-law prayed so hard for so it really shows the power of prayer.

With the bittersweet closing on the house and the milestone anniversary on 04.26, we awoke to a text from my brother-in-law and his wife that their second child was born that morning! The baby was not due for another 2 weeks. I just smiled and thought God is good showing the circle of life. Then I opened up YouVersion to the Verse of the Day and saw my favorite one, Romans 5:3-5, which is so fitting for what the day encompassed. Hope does not disappoint. All praise!

Romans 5:3-5, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
