August 23 - Joanna Pieszchala

On Monday October 24, 2022 my mother passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. I had the privilege of spending the last week of her life helping my dad to take care of her. My mom was a godly woman and served the Lord since her childhood.

In the last week I watched her praying thru the pain and asking God to take her home. The night following her death I woke up troubled and doubtful about her salvation - I believe Satan was trying to attack me and take away my peace. I opened my phone to check for emails and messages and when I opened the One Year Bible Challenge email for that day I immediately noticed this week's Memory Verse: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.

I feel it was God’s way of reassuring me of her salvation and filling me with His peace in the midst of all the emotions and pain.
