July 6 - Anonymous Sinner

Love conquers all. I learned the hard way that if God blesses us with some faith, works and hope, it should be taken very seriously. In fact, the Bible says faith works, and hope performed without love is also useless. Recently, scrolling through my phone completely aware I am reading fabricated content that only drives us toward separation, or a subliminal message for whatever they want us to buy, look at, or laugh at, is hard to approach with a loving response. Why? Because I am creeped out by the nonsense trying to permeate my already sinful brain, in which I’m trying to clean up in the first place.

Furthermore, and more importantly, there are those whom I love dearly, both family, close friends, colleagues, believers in the way of Jesus Christ and non-believers alike, who actually trust this fabricated content, as if it were a “benchmark of truth” in some instances. So how in the world can I approach these situations with a loving response, especially when I’m not being spoken to in a loving way?

Well, my God moment (in my head) was to start praying very quickly and accurately, prior to opening my mouth from a potential insult, or even worse, saying something that could stumble someone’s faith. What happened next was miraculous, because the correct words just came out of my mouth that were based on a truth, clearly put in the Bible. I then calmly and patiently recited a verse to them in the nicest voice possible, I felt It was not of my doing.

Now also know, this person was not a believer, and responded with a “Wow you're correct!” It's so true! How do you know this! Who taught you this “stuff?”. I said, “Oh” it doesn’t come from me, it comes from God’s word. Resultingly, it quelled a heated conversation about The Entire Book of Proverbs in particular, as I told him it should be the basis of every college or University curriculum on Earth, and I then gave him a Bible I had in my car to keep.

Driving back, I was so immersed with seeing the power and Holy Spirit of our God intervene at important times to make a point to the person I was speaking to, and for me to know that God has us in the palm of his hand, with the correct information, when we ask for it, and only with Love in our heart. Yes, both of us had a real good lesson from God our Father that day, and learned the Love really does conquer all.
