July 21 - Bobbi Lawrence

I had an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon to deal with the tendinitis in my wrist. As I was getting into the car to go home, my foot must have slipped and I ended up on the ground.

I have a device to call for help if I fall, so I used it. I'm ok, just a scraped elbow and a sore knee. East Brunswick EMT showed up, and I noticed that the male EMT was an Orthodox Jew because he was wearing a Yarmulke. I asked him how he could touch me, as I am a woman, not related to him and he explained (which I knew) that medical professionals can bypass this rule. I let him know that I was a Jewish Believer, and started to ask him some questions. I asked him if he had ever read Isaiah 53 or Daniel 9, which are not taught in Synagogue. He said that he reads it in Hebrew, and they use letters as numbers (which is true), so I said the numbers or letters shouldn't be a problem.

My niece was with me and she started to talk to him about Truth. He believes in relative truth, and that the Tenach (Old Testament) is not necessarily the only thing they should study, which I also knew. He told me that the Messiah had to be a descendant of David's and Jesus wasn't. He said that Jesus was of the tribe of Judah. I asked him what tribe King David was from and after hemming and hawing for a while he agreed that it was Judah. He also told me that the Rabbis have determined how to balance the earth being less than 6,000 years old and finding fossils that are hundreds of thousands years old. He said that Kabala (Jewish Mysticism) teaches there have been 5 previous earths which were destroyed and this is the last one.

We chatted a bit more, and as soon as we closed the doors on the car, I asked my niece if she knew why I had fallen, and she said correctly, so we could plant a seed with Eli. Please keep this Orthodox Jewish man in Prayer.
