Believers in Christ have a higher authority to answer to. As we are navigating this world in these times, I keep reminding myself we are right in the middle of God’s plan. Yes, we are. Thankfully, being at work for many hours per day has also kept me away from cable news for the last 35 months or so. Friends say “don’t be a workaholic” but if downtime means watching more TV, I beg to differ. Unless my nephew calls and says my beautiful 3-year-old "grandnephew" Anthony is sounding out for his Uncle, I drop everything and I’m there in light speed.

So where is the balance? Is making more time for gaining increased knowledge in God’s word possible with my schedule? Yes, it is. The Bible showed me I need to spend less time at regular work, and more time on the word of God, and work for God. Why?

Because in the beginning God made 24 hours per day in perfect symmetry and is never a second off. So, managing that time simply breaks down to taking time away from other things. Using this time to increase my knowledge in God’s word, also reflects on the Holy Spirit through prayer for this support.

Weighing out decisions used to be easy before I became a believer in the way of Christ.

Now? There are fewer short cuts and compromises, and wisdom is applied to hopefully most matters (if I remember). So, how am I finding a bit more time? In some way, when we are working in the light God, the secondary things seem to take less time to do.

I really don’t know exactly because I never timed it. However, my God moment is proof that delegating or deferring small things is possible. It actually enabled me the time to increase my knowledge, faith, and love for God and The Lord Jesus Christ a bit more than ever before. Because it’s always better to know the higher power we all have to ultimately answer to. Amen?
