May Prayers

May 1

Father You are the God of the possible. You can break the chains of sin that has so easily ensnared us. The sins we have been entangled with, the sins that only You have knowledge of. Forgive us and please set us free. In the name of Jesus. Amen

May 2

Lord make us a people of prayer. So that we would live with purpose and have a clear understanding of where You direct us. That we would live in the intimacy we find when we spend time seeking Your face. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

May 3

Lord forgive us when we have made our cars, sports, actors, children, our homes, our bodies and money, idols. Oh Father set us free from praising and worshiping these things, and not You. Turn our hearts and desires toward You. In Jesus’ name we pray.

May 4

Father move our hearts to fervent prayer. That we would earnestly seek You for the lost, the sick, the broken, the unsaved. We are so quick to just throw up words without truly thinking about what we are saying. Amen

May 5

Lord thank You for walking beside us through our lives journey. Thank You that we are in Your care. Thank You that You are always listening and ready to help in time of our needs. Amen

May 6

Lord God, help us to see the weeds that have grown in our hearts and minds. Those things we have allowed to penetrate and take root, that is not of You. Be our gardener and remove them. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May 7

Lord, help us to keep on that narrow path, as it can be so so difficult at times. Especially when we need to love someone who is unlovable. Or when we might hear the word, cancer. Or when our desires are given, a no. Give us strength Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray.

May 8

Lord Jesus, may You find us walking in righteousness when You return. May we be ready with our lamps full waiting for You, our bridegroom. In Your mighty and holy name we pray. Amen

May 9

Lord God, there are times when our minds will bring up the sins of our past. The shame and sting in our hearts fill us anew. Oh Lord remind us that You do not remember our sins; we have been given grace and mercy. Thank You Lord for remembering our sins no more.

May 10

Lord help us to recognize our need for You. There are times Lord we think we can do this life on our own. We become arrogant and foolish. Forgive us Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray.

May 11

Lord we lift up our mothers to You and those women who have taken the role of a mother in our lives. We ask that You bless them and keep them. Watch over their coming and going. Thank You for these women You have blessed us with. Thank You for their hands that held us and their hearts that loved us. Amen

May 12

Father some of us have children whom have not decided to follow You. Lord we know they need to make the decision on their own, but we ask for Your mercy. We ask, that You allow our eyes to see them worship You before we breathe our last. In Your son’s name. Amen

May 13

With You Lord we do not need to fear the darkness. For when we choose to follow You we get to walk in Your light and no longer in darkness. Thank You for this gift, for You are the light of the world. Amen

May 14

Lord restore our sight. That we would see the beauty of Your creation. That we would see those who need to hear Your words or a comforting hug. Eyes that see our own sins. Give us eyes to see You and who You are. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

May 15

Protect our children O, Lord. Protect them from predators, from the evils of this word. May Your angels encamp around them. As parents we can’t be with them all the time. Oh but You Lord are and we entrust them to You. In the mighty name of Jesus.

May 16

Lord our Savior, some of us have just started our walk with You. We pray for the strength to let go of the sins that we still are holding into. We pray You guard us as we are weak and need Your help to battle the desires of sin that creeps up. In the name of Jesus we pray.

May 17

Lord we pray for those of our family and friends who are walking around in a stupor. Who have chosen not to accept Your precious gift of salvation. Oh Lord have mercy and remove the scales from their eyes and the hardness of their hearts we pray. In the all powerful name of Jesus.

May 18

Father we pray for our children. We ask that You give them direction to know where they need to walk. That You would give them the vision to see what their purpose is in Your church and that they would be obedient to Your calling. In Jesus’ name.

May 19

Lord of Israel, we pray for her peace. Lord we pray for her protection. Lord we lift up Your people Israel and may they recognize Your Son Jesus, as their Messiah. In His holy name, amen.

May 20

Father forgive us when we look for the approval of others. When we are looking for that pat on the back. When we should be looking for Your approval, for in You we will receive the greatest reward. Amen

May 21

Help us Lord to keep our eyes on You. To come before You, and You alone. May our prayers be full of words of thanksgiving and praise, not only of supplications. May we honor You and reverence You in our devotion to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May 22

Lord there are days we can be so physically tired and we run to that coffee to pick us up. Lord May we run to You to revive us physically and spiritually. For when we are physically tired we tend to just shut down and You are not on our lips or mind. In the name of Jesus we pray.

May 23

Lord we lift up our spouses. Help them fix their thoughts on You today. May they make You the centerpiece of everything they believe and think. In Jesus' name we pray.

May 24

Keep us Lord from Satan’s tempting tactics to draw our eyes to sin. Empower us to have restraint and show self-control by turning our eyes away from temptation. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

May 25

Lord of heaven and earth, there are those of us who have lost their jobs. That are without income to provide for our families. Oh Jehova Jirah have mercy and rain down manna from Heaven. We ask in the name of Jesus. Amen

May 26

Father we thank You for all Your blessings. We ask that You forgive us when we take these for granted or do not give You the glory and honor that You deserve for these blessings.

May 27

Lord forgive us when we are callous and have a cold heart toward people who may not be like we are. We can tend to snub our noses to those who we believe are beneath us. Oh Lord let this not be so in any one of us. May we embrace and sympathize and be empathetic to all around us in love and equality. For You created us all equal. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen

May 28

Help us Lord to train our children in the way that they should go. Give us wisdom and direction. Let us not lean on our own understanding but trust in Your leading. In the name of Jesus we pray.

May 29

We cry out to You the creator of heaven and earth to please bring healing to our land. Our society has become so lost. Evil is running rampant. It feels as if it is winning. Have mercy on this land that once was built on You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May 30

Lord deafen our ears from hearing words that are not beneficial to us. May we always be listening to Your still small voice and not that of the noise this world screams at us, In Jesus’ name we pray.

May 31

Lord Your word says, You will keep us in perfect peace. But we can easily look to our inabilities, that makes us feel weak. If we look to Your limitless abilities, we will be in Your perfect peace. We would no longer look at what we are unable to do, but at what we can do by Your strength and power. Remind us Lord that we cannot but You can. Amen
