Hosea 4:1-5:15 | PS 125:1-5 | Prov 29:9-11 | 2 John 1:1-13

It is so prevalent, so insidious, that many don't realize how pervasive the attack against the Bible, and with it, the attack on absolute truth is. Every school, at every level, teaches evolution. This is an attack. When we allow legal bodies to determine when life begins and what constitutes life, when God is the Creator of life, this is an attack. Many places, such as hospitals have all faith chapels, and some are led in all faith prayers. This is an attack to the exclusive truth of Jesus being the only way. Compromise, and open-mindedness, and "tolerance" are exalted in our society which lifts up moral relativism, as each person is encouraged to determine their own version of truth. This is an attack. When I pass television sets, such as in my hospital, with TV preachers, such as Joel Osteen, who choose to keep his messages always positive and uplifting, avoiding topics which might make his audience feel bad, this is an attack. When any church or minister chooses to stand for anything publicly which is in direct contradiction to what is stated in God's Word, this is an attack.

We read in Hosea 4:1, "Hear the word of the Lord, You children of Israel, For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land." God's Word is the only reliable source of truth, and God's love is the only source of true mercy. We read in 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children." Like now, it was not just the people who had strayed, but the priests. Today, many ministers have replaced the Word of God for psychology, philosophy, and entertainment. By doing so, many ministers, when they stand on positions in opposition to God's Word have caused people to doubt the truth of God's Word. We read in 5:11, "Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, Because he willingly walked by human precept." We, in our nation are broken in judgment, having replaced God's Word for human precept. And we read in 5:7, "They have dealt treacherously with the Lord, For they have begotten pagan children." It's bad enough that so many have chosen ignorance, but most now raise children without God, then send them off to school, finally to University to complete their indoctrination process.

We have allowed truth to be compromised, and in the process we have destroyed our foundation. The foundation of our families, the foundation of marriage, the foundation of our nation have all been compromised. That is why nothing less than revival will suffice. Nothing good can grow in the absence of truth. No political wave or new philosophy will do. Just because it is closer to truth than opposing views doesn't make it truth. Sadly, any parent, any teacher, any minister who is not steadfastly consumed in God's Word is completely impotent to know truth themselves or pass it on to the next generation, or those within their sphere of influence.
