Jer 44:24-47:7 | PS 94:1-23 | Prov 26:6-8 | 2 Tim 2:22-3:17

None of us know the exact time or hour that our nation, as we know it, changes forever. All of the signs are there. Without revival we have strayed too far from God. Interestingly in former times there would be some kind of warning. There might be the sound of hooves and siege ramps. There might be a fleet of ships approaching. In more modern times there might be the assembling of troops, etc. But none of that is any longer necessary. With a simple press of a button, our world as we know it can be changed instantaneously through our new and improved missile systems. We read in Proverbs 26:8, “Like one who binds a stone in a sling Is he who gives honor to a fool.” Yet it seems that all of our hope seems to be bound up in fools. Godless fools who have no shortage of promises. But God!! Realize world-wide destruction, especially with the arsenals each nation now possesses is a terrifying concept, unless of course, you are safe in the Master’s hand.

We read in Jeremiah 45:4-5, ““Thus you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, what I have built I will break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up, that is, this whole land. And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the Lord. “But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.” ’ ”. Baruch is told, though everything around him would be destroyed, he would remain safe, as God would not remove His protection from him. We also read in 47:3, “At the noise of the stamping hooves of his strong horses, At the rushing of his chariots, At the rumbling of his wheels, The fathers will not look back for their children, Lacking courage,”. This is the state of our current self-centered world that we live in now, as we read Paul’s description in 2 Timothy 3:1-2, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,”.

What is to be our response. I have very little control over how the events of the nations transpire. Yes, I vote and raise my voice on occasion. But, that is not where our power resides. In Christ I know that I am secure, whether on this earth or in eternity. One soul at a time we have the ability to offer others this same hope. Jesus is our living Hope and He can become the hope of any who place their Hope and trust in Him. So the choice, fret at circumstances, or become emboldened in Christ.
